Ninja Theory and Epic Games showcase Metahumans upgrades and new iPhone tools for facial animations.

Metahuman Animator

At GDC 2023 Ninja Theory demonstrated their capacity to produce fully animated sequences using newly captured video at GDC, showcasing the capability of Epic Games’ Metahumans tool and Unreal Engine 5. The outcomes of these methods are demonstrated in the video below, which is a genuinely remarkable presentation of Epic Games’ most recent innovations.

In a demonstration, Epic Games showed how Melina Juergens, the actress who plays Senua in Hellblade, could take a video of her face using an iPhone, have it uploaded by a technician, processed, and turned into a fully animated sequence in a matter of minutes.

Ordinarily, to obtain comparable results with motion capture, one would need expensive tools, a lot of technical know-how, and a lot of time. Now, this process can be finished quickly and without a lot of expensive hardware owing to Unreal Engine 5 and a new tool called MetaHuman Animator.

Nvidia officially announces the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti

Nvidia officially announces the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti

Nvidia revealed the RTX 4070 Ti as the newest GPU for its RTX 40 series as part of its GeForce Beyond stream at CES 2023.

The RTX 4070 Ti graphics cards, which use Nvidia’s new Ada Lovelace architecture, are intended to replace the RTX 3090 Ti graphics cards with better performance and DLSS 3 capabilities. The RTX 4070 Ti, according to Nvidia, will perform up to three times better than the RTX 3090 Ti, the previous RTX 30 flagship.

After the RTX 4090 and two variations of the RTX 4080, one with 16GB of memory and the other with 12GB of memory, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti is the fourth card to be unveiled for the RTX 40 series. Nvidia “unlaunched” the 12GB GPU prior to its scheduled release date of November 16. Due to a contentious connector cable that has melted for some customers, the RTX 40 series has also attracted as much notice as the current flagship GPU, the RTX 4090.

The RTX 4070 Ti will cost $799 at retail and is scheduled to go on sale tomorrow January 5th.

Remember Thinking With Portal?

The most talked-about technological development in recent years in the gaming industry is ray tracing. The main selling point for Nvidia’s 20/30 and 40-series graphics cards is their RTX capabilities, which players are clamouring for in free updates to their favourite games. Ray tracing may provide unequalled quality in realistic lighting, shadows thrown in real-time, and exact reflections when used properly.

What games make the best use of ray tracing then? There are several excellent new game titles that make good use of this technology however if you want to be persuaded by its strength before buying a high-end RTX card or Laptop, one game that will be highly playable on even the entry-level RTX-50 line is Portal with RTX which is coming this month as a free download for existing and new Portal owners.

Although not as complex and immersive as the seminal Portal 2 with the ‘Perpetual Testing Initiative’’ DLC which is regarded by anybody that has clocked Portal 2 as Hell, Limbo or both places combined with its infinite amount of chambers/maps to play. Portal 1 is still an amazing experience and for anybody that has an RTX Windows PC, the new update that has been made possible with Nvidia Remix is an essential download for November/December

Solana Game – Star Atlas gets a playable demo via the Epic Games Store

Even if it might take years for the Solana-based distant space strategy game to fully materialize, Star Atlas is undoubtedly one of the most ambitious NFT-driven games on the horizon. However, eager players won’t need to wait too long to get a taste: a brief sample has now been made available via the Epic Games Store.

The pre-alpha demo of the Unreal Engine 5 used to power the game, Star Atlas: Showroom was released today as part of a live-streamed event. Owners of Star Atlas NFTs can view the ships and vehicles they’ve purchased while exploring a 3D world demo.

Unfortunately, only Star Atlas NFT owners presently have access to the Star Atlas demo; however, anyone can obtain an access key by owning a ship and joining one of the game’s factions. According to Michael Wagner, CEO, and co-founder of Star Atlas developer ATMTA, some non-owners will receive access passes to the demo, which also includes a single non-NFT ship to explore.

The Showroom demo will be enhanced later this year to incorporate new features like multiplayer support, chat functionality, and the ability for NFT holders to fly their ships inside the demo.

You can find out more about the game at the Star Atlas website here

If you have an NFT you can find the demo page on the Epic Games store here

PICO 4 New Headset Up For Preorder in UK & Europe

Bytedance, the parent of Tiktok, is going head to head with Meta with the announcement of the PICO 4 mobile XR/VR headset. After the Pico Neo 3 Link was used to test the waters in small beta quantities, it is the first actual consumer-oriented HMD offered by Pico on the market with widespread availability.

Bytedance owns Pico, and this is the gadget that Bytedance is using to challenge Meta and position itself as a direct rival to Meta in place of Google and Apple, who have both failed to offer any challenge to Meta with an HMD, offering a device that is stylish, really affordable, and has a large library of content. It directly competes with Meta Quest 2’s strongest points, including the pricing, with the headset coming at a slightly lower price than the Quest 2.

The headset uses the same XR2 chip found in the Meta Quest 2. However, the Qualcomm XR2 chipset in the Pico 4 operates at full clock speed and capacity. Unlike the chipset in the Quest 2, the PICO 4 chip is fully powered, much like the HTC Focus 3. An active cooling system makes this possible on the PICO. This gadget can accommodate the 4K+ resolution of its screen thanks to the additional horsepower.

The headset is up for preorder today and can be bought in the United Kingdom and Europe. However, no date has been set for a US release, although Meta is gearing up for the release of the Quest Pro around the 10th of this month and may not be able to directly compete with that device in the US market due to partnership deals with Meta as it is also powered by a Qualcomm XR2.

Nvidia Announces the RTX 4000 series GPUs

The most anticipated Nvidia graphics card lineup has finally been announced. This is following through on many months of leaks and rumours. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4080 and GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards have finally been formally introduced by the firm after Nvidia previously stated that the eagerly anticipated lineup would be showcased at GTC 2022.

This update includes improvements for Nvidia RTX, AI, and Omniverse with new chips to power them. RacerX, a simulation engine that runs on a single GPU and has no baked-in features, is shown off in the stunning RTX Racer demo.

Nvidia revealed the Ada Lovelace architecture as predicted. It contains 76 billion transistors and Micron GDDR6X memory using the TSMC 4N technology.

In order to optimise RT computation, it has also included a new streaming multiprocessor with shader execution reordering. with performance improvements of 2-3 times. The 4080 and 4090 both aspire to outperform the 3090 Ti by a factor of two.

Along with the new GPUs, Nvidia now includes DLSS 3. It creates new frames instead of just pixels, meshing the successive frames to enhance their appearance. By easing the load, this seeks to avoid any CPU bottlenecks. With the excellent but GPU-hogging Cyberpunk 2077 showcased, we were shown an improvement from 20–30 frames per second to 90 FPS.

The RTX 4090 will be available on October 12, 2022, starting at around $1,599.

To the Metaverse: Africa, Costa Rica, and Ukraine?

Users of Web3 will soon be able to visit Ukraine, Costa Rica, and Africa in the Metaverse as businesses develop virtual settings for a new era of globalization.

The Metaverse is swiftly rising to the top of the list of crucial locations for businesses and people wishing to broaden their influence. According to a recent study from the company MarketsandMarkets, the market for the metaverse will expand from $61.8 billion in 2022 to $426.9 billion in 2027.

In addition, a current Juniper Research paper connects the development of nonfungible tokens (NFTs) with use cases in the metaverse. These results predict a rise in the number of metaverse-related NFTs from 600,000 in 2022 to 9.8 million in 2027.

Numerous areas of the world have begun to build a virtual presence in light of this potential. For instance, in July of this year, the emirate of Dubai announced the beginning of the Dubai Metaverse Strategy. The Dubai Metaverse Strategy, as previously reported by Cointelegraph, aims to draw foreign businesses and initiatives while also supporting metaverse education for programmers, content producers, and consumers of digital platforms.

Although the idea may seem futuristic, industry insiders think this is a natural evolution. According to Hrish Lotlikar, co-founder and CEO of Superworld, an augmented reality content platform, as Web3 technology becomes more prevalent in society, forward-thinking locales, governments, and businesses will take advantage of the Metaverse’s communication, gamification, and revenue opportunities.

Metaverse Is Essential To The Long-term Viability of NFTs?

The future course of the nonfungible token (NFT) market over the following five years was examined in a recent analysis by Juniper Research. The report predicts that by 2027, there would be about 40 million global NFT transactions, up from 24 million in 2022.

According to the study, use cases related to the metaverse would be one of the main drivers for NFT adoption. In the following five years, this subset of NFTs will have the fastest growth. By 2027, there will be 9.8 million transactions involving metaverse-related NFTs, up from 600,000 in 2022.

A positive sign for the NFT market is coming from major companies like Gucci and Adidas that have already embraced wearable technology in the digital sphere. These findings demonstrate that customers desire monetary value from their digital possessions and the ability to exchange that value with others.

This is further supported by a recent analysis from XRP creator Ripple, which examined the interest of major financial institutions in NFT. The most interesting NFTs had to do with music. In addition to building up value in a wallet, music NFTs frequently incorporate multi-utility, such as exclusive artist content and fractional ownership of royalties/song rights.

Juniper claims the report’s data is based on an adoption “medium scenario.” Despite the fact that these digital assets present fresh opportunities for growth and revenue generation, the report advises vendors to exercise caution given the prevalence of NFT scams in the industry.

Web 3.0 The Future Of The Internet?

The Internet is a vast network of interconnected systems that make up one of the most powerful and influential tools in the world today. It is so powerful, in fact, that it is often referred to as Web 2.0 or the information age. The next generation of the internet has been dubbed Web 3.0. It is a system that will take the internet to a new level by radically changing the way people use it and how it interacts with society. In this article, we will explore what it is and how it will affect the world.

What is Web 3.0?

What most people refer to today as Web 3.0 is the emerging technologies that are changing the way that we interact with websites with technologies like blockchain. Tim Berners-Lee first coined the term Web 3.0 in the year 2010.

Web 3.0 is the term given to the next evolution of the internet and web technology. It is the idea of a new era for the internet where every individual has the power to be a creator and or a consumer of value. The evolution of the internet has meant that the internet is no longer just a platform for a few people to share their ideas. The world wide web has now become a platform for people to share their ideas and make them happen. The next evolution of the internet will be the evolution of the individual and the value they can create and offer the world.

The Impact Of Web 3.0

Web 3.0 is the new wave of the internet, The internet is the now world’s most prominent vein of information and everyone on the planet will soon be connected. The problem with the internet is that in order to access it, you need a device. The internet is very present and not so personal. However, with Web 3.0, the internet is no longer just about computers and devices. Web 3.0 is about the internet being woven into the fabric of our lives with smart contracts and artificial intelligence. In order to use the internet of web 3.0, you will no longer need to personally operate a device as an intelligent assistant can use the web for you to solve any of your personal problems. It’s now being embedded into everything that we use and do. Web 3.0 is the next big step in the evolution of mankind and the internet, and it’s happening right now.

Web 3.0 – Key Aspects

There are many different aspects of Web 3.0, including machines being able to read site data more easily, but here few of the most important ones that most people will become aware of and interact with:

The first is the concept of ‘Web 3.0’ itself, which is a future-oriented concept that is being developed by many different computer scientists across the globe.

The second is the concept of ‘blockchain’, which is a type of decentralized database that is being developed to help create a secure, reliable, and transparent digital asset exchange.

The third is the concept of ‘smart contracts, which is a type of contractual agreement between the buyer and the seller without the need for a third party to enforce the agreement.

The fourth is the concept of ‘decentralization’, which is a type of system that is decentralized and not controlled by one central authority.

The fifth is the concept of ‘federated identity, which is a concept in which a user’s information is stored and accessed by multiple services. It is often used to provide a single login for the user across multiple websites or to make it easier for a user to use multiple websites without having to remember different passwords.

The Era of web 3.0 is in now full swing and where it will take us is into a new dynamic digital age full of opportunity and a zero marginal cost society leading us all to a metaverse of wonder and value.
